FTP Configuration:
For windows, see the following link:
Second, follow these steps:
Once the FTP server has been configured, and the firewall is allowing connections as per the link above, we will need to configure the Adaptive Job Server in the Central Management Console. Once you log on to the CMC, select the ‘servers’ tab and right click on the Adaptive Job Server and select ‘Destination’.
Then, select FTP as your new destination, and remember to click ‘add’. This will open up a new set of lines to fill out in order to schedule the report to the correct destination. The host is your FTP server machines ip address can be found in the CMD -> IPCONFIG. The port should also be the same as we set up in IIS, with 21 being the default. The username is the same as is used to log on to the windows machine, as is the password.
The next step is to logon to the BI Launchpad, and right click on the report to be scheduled.
Once you select schedule on the desired report, another menu will open with various tabs in which you can define the type of scheduling and how often the report will be run. In this example the report will run once every 7 days at 5.36 PM for one week and the reports last run will occur before 06:59 AM on the 21st of June 2021.
The next important tab is the Destinations tab, where we can select a number of different options for scheduling. In this use-case, the two relevant options are Default Enterprise Location andFTP Server (I also changed the WebI report format to Excel spreadsheet, as you will see in at the end). The Default Enterprise Location will use the default option configured in the Adaptive Job Server.
To send the document to the FTP server that we configured in the Adaptive Job Server, just select FTP Server in Destination: and select use default settings
You can also set the destination to another FTP server if you only want to send a report once, for example.
Now simply click schedule, and the report will run once the recurrence condition is fulfilled.
